Winter fun
SNOWSHOEING!
Mother Hulda has provided us with snow! High time for some winter fun.
How about a snowshoe hike? The weather would be perfect for it right now. Last year we did a taster tour on the Dreisessel. The journey from Regensburg takes about 1.5 hours. On this guided tour, you start at the Dreisesselhaus and then hike through the beautiful border triangle. The landscape is really beautiful and some of the frozen trees look bizarre.
Fantastic views (some as far as the Alps) accompanied us on the tour, while the snow crunched under our snowshoes. We crossed three countries at once: the Dreisessel lies at the border triangle of Bavaria, the Czech Republic and Austria. The final point of the circular hike was the Dreisesselhaus after approx. 3 hours, where you can also stop for refreshments afterwards.
Incidentally, snowshoes are not real shoes, but rather shoe bases made of aluminum or plastic that are strapped under the shoes to increase the contact surface on the snow.
We had so much fun that we bought our own snowshoes and went to the Pröller in the Bavarian Forest the following weekend. Give it a try!
