Regensburg is not necessarily an Eldorado for people who follow a vegan diet. However, there are now several cafés that offer creative and delicious vegan breakfasts or are even completely vegan. Café Jolie

Café Jolie has a large vegan breakfast selection and two locations in Regensburg, one in the old town at Pfauengasse 3 and one at Donaumarkt in Klostermeyergasse 1. More than ten different vegan breakfasts plus vegan pancakes are available here. And all in organic quality. As the menu changes frequently, it cannot be found on the website. Café Jolie on the Danube

Cat temple

In addition to cats, the Katzentempel has a sustainable concept with plant-based ingredients, i.e. all dishes are vegan. And all the cats are adopted from animal welfare organizations. This year, “Dahoam” has moved to Thurn und Taxis Castle. Here you can also enjoy a vegan breakfast in a beautiful glass pavilion. The “Wastl” breakfast consists of vanilla soy yoghurt with fresh fruit, cranberries, crunchy nuts and chia, homemade antipasti, homemade jam, vegan margarine, peanut butter and bread. Dahoam in the castle café

Café Lila

The Café Lila on Haidplatz offers a vegan fruit piece with small fresh grain muesli with soy yoghurt, fresh fruit and blueberry sauce, antipasti vegetables with hummus, raw vegetables with homemade paprika and eggplant dip and guacamole, homemade strawberry jam and margarine, but you can also modify other dishes to make them vegan. Rough Surface Coffee

The former Café am Peterstor offers unusual breakfast variations, such as ‘sourdough bread with avocado, roasted lettuce hearts, pickled nectarine,
pico de gallo and chipotle mayo’ or ‘sourdough bread with garlic confit, colorful tomatoes, pickled red onions, olives and basil’. The cozy museum café also serves a vegan breakfast with a smoothie, lukewarm cranberry and vanilla couscous with chia, oriental quinoa salad, tabouleh bulgur salad, fruit spread, peanut butter, margarine, fruit salad, small soy yoghurt with muesli, hummus, Wilmsburger melt, fresh fruit and vegetables. Orphée

The Orphée is a classic in Regensburg, having been at Untere Bachgasse 8 since 1977. Not only does it offer a French ambience, but also the vegan breakfast “Casablanca” with mango hummus, muesli, avocado, soy yoghurt, fruit, almond cream and jam. The Bircher muesli can also be ordered vegan. Breakfast from 8.00 a.m.

Another classic in Regensburg is Hemingway’s. Café / restaurant / bar you can find all this in the cozy Hemingway’s on Obere Bachgasse. And vegan breakfast: “Fiesta” includes soy yogurt with muesli and fruit, wholemeal bread with avocado spread, cherry tomatoes and homemade vegetable dip. Breakfast Monday to Thursday from 11.00 am.
