REGENSBURG BLOGS!

We have often reported on blogs from Regensburg here on RegensburgNow.de (click here for the articles: Blogs from Regensburg and Regensburg blogs).
We recently made a new discovery on Instagram and were immediately impressed: Studiovea.de
We asked Regensburg-based blogger Vera a few questions about what studiovea is all about.

Dear Vera,

Please introduce yourself briefly and tell us what you do.
My name is Vera and I have recently moved back to my beautiful home town of Regensburg with my husband Paul and our daughter. My job description is a bit strange to most people because it’s just too new. I am a so-called content creator – that means that I create content in the form of photos, texts and videos in the DIY and interior sector. I share these either on my blog studiovea.de and my social media channels (such as Instagram @studiovea) or in magazines, customer magazines and company blogs. There is always a lot of work and change going on in our studio and at home. Recently, we have also launched a small, fine online store veastore.de where you can find special, beautiful and, in the best case, sustainable home accessories.

How did your website studiovea.de come about?
Designing and “do-it-yourself” has always been a great passion of mine, but as a management consultant I simply didn’t have the time. During my parental leave, I had some time to let off steam creatively for the first time since my studies. Many friends from Hamburg liked my ideas so much that they encouraged me to share them on a blog. With a web developer for a husband, the entry hurdle wasn’t too big and paulsvera, now Studiovea, was born. Blogs were still relatively new back then and platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram were still in their infancy. An incredible amount has happened in the last few years, which makes it very exciting to work in this field. But I wouldn’t have thought that it would develop into my job back then.

You only recently moved from Hamburg to Regensburg. What brought you back to your home town?
The quality of life in Regensburg is simply unbelievably high. In addition to the beautiful old town, Regensburg has a lot to offer in terms of local recreation and culture. And all in a manageable size. We enjoy the short distances here, the proximity to nature and the extensive cultural offerings (considering the size of the city). Especially as a family, life here is a lot more relaxed than in a big city like Hamburg. Children’s doctor’s appointments, sports courses and events are also possible at short notice, the playgrounds are never overcrowded and the primary school place at the Sprengel school is safe – that’s unthinkable in a city like Hamburg 🙂
As we are location-independent at work, we decided to leave Hamburg last year and move back to beautiful Regensburg – and that was definitely the right decision.

Among other things, you blog about DIY, or “do it yourself”. Many people have just discovered how to do handicrafts or cook during lockdown, i.e. how to get creative themselves. Do you have any tips for beginners?
Just do it. I think many people often have a lot of respect for getting started, but ultimately you can’t go far wrong with the right instructions. And even if the result doesn’t turn out the way you want it to – just keep going and try it out a bit. The most important thing is that it’s fun!

What were your favorite DIY projects?
Hm, a few things have come together in the last few years. Most recently, I designed two mobiles for our new apartment, which you will soon be able to see on the blog. I also like all ideas that are both simple and original, such as the bed head and lamp holder in our last Hamburg apartment, the beautiful dried flower holder or the everlasting mistletoe.

You offer so-called “design freebies” on studiovea.de. For the uninitiated: what can we find there?
There are free print templates such as calendars and weekly planners, as well as beautiful postcards and mobile templates. You can simply print these out at home and get started.

What do you like about Regensburg? Do you have a favorite place?
I love Regensburg with its beautiful medieval center and its proximity to water and nature. I’m getting to know the city all over again – it’s incredibly exciting.
My favorite places are definitely the Wöhrdinsel, the Herzogspark and the entire old town – there’s nothing better than strolling through the small streets in sunny weather.

The Regensburg question: Knackersemmel or princess chocolates?
Prinzess Pralinen – because meat is not on our table…

What is your next project?
I’m planning a new back panel for our bed made from old panel doors. But first it has to get a bit warmer in our studio again…it’s not so good to work at 3 degrees at the moment.
