THE PODCAST REGENSBURG |R| LIFE
The podcast REGENSBURG|R|LEBEN introduces various people from Regensburg and presents events, initiatives and associations. Carolyn Molski, from Regensburg Tourismus GmbH, talks to her guests about life in Regensburg and the things you can experience here. The first episode of REGENSBURG|R|LEBEN , was broadcast in March 2022. We asked Carolyn Molski a few questions to mark its second birthday. RegensburgNow: Dear Caro,
How long have you lived in Regensburg and where have you lived so far? I am actually still a true native of Regensburg. (Yes, south of the Danube 😉 ) I haven’t moved anywhere else yet. I was lucky enough to be able to study here and have always lived and worked in Regensburg, apart from a one-year stint in Weiden. I owe my marketing, PR and tourism knowledge to Stadtmaus, Odeon Concerte, Siemens, Gutscheinbuch, Dominos Pizza Regensburg and, last but not least, RTG. And I have arrived. I can’t imagine anything better than bringing other people closer to the love of this city.
What can we expect in your podcast?
In short: exciting guests. We talk about events, hotly debated topics such as the light rail system, but also about personalities and their lives in Regensburg. When else can you talk casually with a star chef about “Chichi cuisine” or find out why the beer at the Dult is stronger, or what it was like to spend your youth in the red light district in Von-der-Tann-Straße?
Please describe Regensburg briefly in your own words:
Regensburg is the perfect mix: old & new, historic & modern, conservative & young at heart.
What do you like about Regensburg?
I think what makes Regensburg special for me is that you can sit down anywhere and at any time and (if you want to) always strike up a conversation with people. And it doesn’t matter whether I sit down in the smallest boazn or in an upscale cocktail bar. Regensburg simply has it all. It’s a young, vibrant city with lots of bars and cafés that are also located in historic buildings. I can feel the history of the city while I’m enjoying a coffee or dancing in a club.
What is exciting about your work?
It never gets boring because you face new challenges every day. In fact, it’s mainly the look behind the scenes – as soon as you sit down with a few creative minds, you realize what new projects are being spun. To name just a few examples from the last two years: Genesis, Sparks & Visions, Culture Bites, Re.Light, but also designing walks, like the craft walk. And the great thing about it is that I can professionally spread my enthusiasm for the city around the world and tell people all about what Regensburg has to offer.
What are you currently working on or what is your next project?
Together with the industry, we are currently working on a few new ideas. It will be interesting to see what we implement in 2024!
Do you have a favorite place or favorite spot in or around Regensburg?
My absolute favorite place is the Sallerner Berg. I spent my childhood there and I think it has the best view of the city.
You work for Regensburg Tourismus GmbH. Do you have an insider tip for Regensburg?
It’s not really a secret. But I recommend that everyone just sits down in a café or bar in a lively place like Gesandtenstraße and watches the people walking by, to “feel” Regensburg, so to speak.
In your podcast you always ask your guests a few Regensburg questions at the end, you call it “the Regensburg Gretchen question”.
Now, of course, we would also like to find out more from you. So:
Old town or Stadtamhof?
Old town
Westbad or RT-Bad?
RT bath
Crispy rolls or princess chocolates?
Definitely a cracker with everything!
Thank you very much!
