FAVORITE SONGS FROM REGENSBURG!

Yesterday we happened to hear a song on the radio that we particularly liked. And lo and behold, the song “Tomorrow” was by the band Some Sprouts from Regensburg! Reason enough to browse through our “Made in Regensburg” section to see what other great songs there are by musicians from our city.

Here are our current favorite songs:

Some Sprouts

In September, the song “Tomorrow” was released, produced by Tobias Kuhn (The Kooks, Milky Chance), Mathias Oldofredi (Filou, James Hersey), and Oli Zülch (The Notwist, Sportfreunde Stiller). According to the band, a “slacker song with lo-fi charm.” Slacker charm, contemporary retro aesthetics and a sound between dreampop and indie rock characterize the band, which came together during their studies in Regensburg and released their first demo back in 2016. They now play concerts all over Germany.
BR says of the band: “Some Sprouts sound so relaxed that they could challenge Mac DeMarco’s throne as mega-chillers.”

Telquist

The musician behind Telquist is Sebastian Eggerbauer from Regensburg. His solo album “Strawberry Fields”, released in 2017, brought him some attention.
2018 he then won the Regensburg Music Prize. He is considered an exciting newcomer in the indie pop world. The Nowak

Nowak is the artistic figure of Regensburg-based artist Rebekka Maier. The multi-award-winning pianist and singer is slightly reminiscent of a mixture of Hildegard Knef and Nina Hagen. Her music moves between piano pop and chanson. If you haven’t heard Nowak yet, you should definitely do so, she has a fantastic voice and plays the piano wonderfully. She also has razor-sharp lyrics. Table Tennis

The musicians Fyn, Flo and Konstantin write on their Facebook page: “Hi, We are Table Tennis – a band from Regensburg. When we realized that everything was a breath of wind and air, we knew that there was no advantage under the sun.” Not much more was to be found.
