THE NEW RADIO STATION FOR REGENSBURG:

GHOST TOWN RADIO!

Regensburg has a new radio station on the internet! The new radio station Ghost Town Radio from Regensburg has been on air since April 11, 2020. The independent station was founded by Adam “Kermit” Lederway. The native American already had his own radio show in the USA and is now following his passion for music again and broadcasting from Stadtamhof. Adam is supported by various hosts, for example DJ Bombsiteboy from Tiki Beat, who takes on a different musical style every week, DJ SteVe takes listeners back to the early days of punk, new wave, post-punk, dark wave and gothic with a good dose of 80s indie. Or Daniel Noyman, who takes a closer look at musicians and bands from Regensburg and the surrounding area. Martin Stein (formerly of Wunderbar) and Holger Jahnel (formerly of Plan9) are also part of the team. On top there are interesting interviews and much more on Ghost Town Radio. Broadcast daily from 19.00 hrs.

We asked Adam a few questions:

Dear Adam, where does the name “Ghost Town Radio” actually come from?
The name came about when I looked out of my apartment onto the empty streets of Stadtamhof during the Corona period. Also, friends of mine have a great record label: Ghost Town Noize. I found that very fitting.

How did you get into radio?
I’ve always loved radio, it’s such a great, “old” medium. I probably inherited the passion from my father Marc, who took me to his community radio station as a child.

You were born in the US. What brought you to Regensburg?
I originally followed my then girlfriend to Regensburg, whom I met in New York, where she was doing an au pair year. We are still friends, but the love didn’t last – but the love for the city did.

What do you like about Regensburg?
I especially like the residents. And Stadtamhof is of course something very special, it’s my home.

I think there were three of you when you started. How many people are there in the team now?
In the meantime, we are almost 20 people who make regular broadcasts. I can’t believe how quickly Ghost Town Radio has grown and how many people now share my passion. Radio is addictive …

We’ve already told you a bit about your program. What else can we expect from Ghost Town Radio?
Above all, lots and lots of passion from everyone involved. Regionality. And a paradise for music lovers.

Which program should we not miss under any circumstances?
Each program covers an individual taste and that’s the great thing about it. So of course I would say: you definitely shouldn’t miss every single show.
