FOR FREE AND INDOORS!

The weather in Regensburg in the fall is unfortunately not very inviting for doing much outside. We’ve taken a look at what free offers there are where you don’t have to spend a penny and can stay dry.

Here are our RegensburgNow tips “Free and indoors”:

Free admission to the museum

Art and culture don’t have to be expensive! At least not at the municipal museums: every 1st Sunday of the month, admission to the following museums is free: Historisches Museum am Dachauplatz, Städtische Galerie im Leeren Beutel, Document Keplerhaus.

Free to the concert: lunchtime music “5nachzwölf”

The lunchtime music in Regensburg’s Niedermünster cathedral parish church invites you to a free half-hour concert every Saturday at 5:12.
The varied program includes classical and sacred music from the Middle Ages to modern times, as well as jazz and world music. The performers range from ambitious amateur ensembles to award-winning young musicians and professionals from all musical genres – from soloists at the organ to performances with choirs and orchestras.
Incidentally, the “Mittagsmusik in Niedermünster e.V.” was awarded the City of Regensburg’s Cultural Promotion Prize in 2014 for its voluntary cultural commitment.

A place by all, for all. Cultural space M26

The interim use of the 400m2 premises at Maximilianstraße 26 is a great interim use project by the city of Regensburg.
M26 is a place for art, culture and social issues, offers space for exchange, encounters and dialog and promotes cultural participation and education. There are events and lectures as well as various meetings, such as tango or the drawing meeting, which takes place every first and third Friday of the month from 2.00 pm. M26

Regensburg City Library

There are numerous free events for children as well as lectures and readings for adults in the Regensburg City Library and the district libraries. Of course, you can also browse through books and newspapers here.
We would definitely recommend a library card to everyone – it costs very little and in addition to the analog offer, there is a very large digital offer of e-books, music, films and magazines. Regensburg City Library

Free store TeilBar

The TeilBar (formerly Wechselwelt) is a project of Transition Regensburg and an antithesis to the throwaway society. A free store for giving away, taking away and exchanging things. Here, new purchases can become superfluous and things that are no longer needed get the chance of a new life. You don’t have to give anything away to take something with you. It is also possible to hand in (intact items) without taking anything with you. Umsonstladen TeilBar / Transition
