Farm stores
FARM STORES IN AND AROUND REGENSBURG!
Anyone who has ever bought vegetables, potatoes or eggs in one of the mostly small but fine farm stores will certainly want to do so again. The smell of freshly harvested potatoes fills the air and, if you’re lucky, a happy laying hen will be walking across the farmyard. Farm stores not only offer a particularly personal atmosphere, almost like in the old days at the corner shop where everyone knows everyone else. Above all, they offer regional products that are super fresh and authentic for the discerning customer. Here it can be a little bit more!
Here are our tips for farm stores:
Geiger farm store
This is a busy young business near Kelheim that not only sells its products in its farm stores, but is also represented at various markets. For example at the Kornmarkt, Bismarckplatz, the Regensburg farmers’ market and the Kelheim weekly market. There is a farm store in the old town (Ostengasse), which is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Regensburger Hofladen, Ostengasse 23 Ihrlersteiner Hofladen, Nürnberger Straße 9, 93346 Ihrlerstein www.obsthof-geiger.de
Farm store Max Küffner
Regional, seasonal and healthy is the name of the game here. With its ready-to-cook salads and vegetables, it is no longer an insider tip for gastronomy and amateur chefs. The farm store also offers a seasonal selection of game, poultry, fish, sauerkraut, plants and flowers. Nürnberger Str. 370, 93059 Regensburg
Radis&Bona
This cooperative is committed to promoting the connection between regionality and ecology. In the new “farm store” in the west of Regensburg, they offer a full range of seasonal fruit and vegetables, dried and baked goods, meat, dairy and cheese products as well as canned goods and drugstore products. Radis&Bona also offers customers products from further afield, such as fair trade chocolate, tea and coffee from Ökoring, a responsible organic wholesaler near Munich. Rilkestr. 5A, 93051 Regensburg – Monday to Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday until 4 p.m. www.radisundbona.de
Organic market garden܁Farm shop܁Solawi
Market gardening works according to the regenerative principles of permaculture. The vegetable plants are planted densely so that everything can be done by hand. The soil is worked as little as possible. The seasonal vegetables are grown in nearby Burgweinting. They can be bought fresh and fermented in the farm store of the Regensburg Solawi Group (solidarity farming) in Obertraublinger Straße. Products from partners in the region are also available here! The motto of these enthusiastic hobby gardeners is also: regional, without artificial fertilizers, unsprayed, therefore environmentally friendly and inexpensive. To make this work, we rely on mutual solidarity. This means that consumers and producers work together directly. Membership also makes shopping here particularly affordable. Anyone can drop by and shop spontaneously! If you like, you can also help out! Obertraublinger Str. 1, 93055 Regensburg oberpflanz.de
The green corner (organic farm Koller) in Kareth
A comprehensive farm store with organic products and an in-house cheese dairy invites you to feast. The “green corner” offers cheese made from sheep’s, goat’s and cow’s milk. Lamb, pork, kid goats, beef and poultry are available on request. Benhof – Franz Habenschaden in Lappersdorf
Almost everything here revolves around potatoes, or as they say in Bavaria, Erdäpfel! The passionately run farm has also surprised its regular customers with watermelons in recent years and this year the focus was on the sweet little fruits that you can pick yourself: Strawberries! Nevertheless, the traditional pumpkins once again attracted people to the fields in the fall. In the farm store, you can pick up fresh potatoes for the Sunday dumplings almost around the clock, 365 days a year – without bothering anyone, because it works like a flower meadow here – trust is very important here.
Weitzer farm store in Pentling
Just like in grandma’s day – simple, honest, straightforward – this is how the Weitzer family’s farm store presents itself and has already won over many regular customers. Here, too, the motto “simple is good” applies to products from the farm, such as rooster, turkey and pork, as well as fruit spreads, sauces and chutneys. Honest: “with us you know where it comes from” and manageable: quality instead of quantity Heinrichstraße 53, 93080 Großberg near Pentling hofladen-weitzer.de
Haubner organic farm
Graßlfing is home to a family-run business that grows and sells its own table potatoes and cereals. Here you can buy the grown passion and taste by the pound. Organic farm store Biohof Menzl
Here, the cultivation of vegetables and cereals is combined with orchards to create a so-called orchard. The mostly old 28 apple varieties are spread over around 300 apple trees and offer a healthy and regional culinary variety. The delicious selection is rounded off with pears, four plums and two different sweet cherry trees. The Menzl organic farm also offers potatoes, pumpkin, onions, yellow turnips from its own cultivation and apple juice, mixed juices and cider from its own production. Biohof Menzl, Martin Menzl – Hölkering 7a, 93080 Pentling
Judith Ladl – Farm and unpacked Ladl
In the small store in Hohengebraching, just around the corner from her own farm, Judith offers an amazingly wide range of products in a small space, from Leberkäsbrät to roast pork, from fillable organic washing and cleaning products. Around 3,500 eggs are purchased here every day, which are sold in the farm store alongside many other regional and fresh products. Their great passion, however, is a small white bulb: garlic. Four different varieties of garlic are now grown here on several hectares, which are exclusively marketed fresh and directly.
