DillyDally
DILLYDALLY DESIGNMARKT!
The DillyDally Design Market is a firm institution in Regensburg’s fall. We’ve had the date marked in our calendar for a long time because we love the DillyDally Design Market, which will be entering its twelfth round on November 2 and 3, 2024. That’s right, DillyDally is celebrating its 12th edition in the RT-Halle. The gymnasium from the 1920s has its very own shabby charm and is the perfect playground for design. Once a year, it takes center stage with its light-flooded rooms and is really spruced up by the DillyDally makers, Tanja Jackwerth and Tanja Schuster.
With the twelfth edition, the DillyDally design market brings a lot of color and fresh ideas into the fall as usual. And above all: lots of pink!
This year, the façade will be lit up with visuals by Kaamosydin and the Kitchen Crew from Adventure Camp Schnitzmühle will be setting up a POP UP BIERGARTEN by the river. And then there are the art academy students from Berlin and Nuremberg, who will be selling prints and special features from their vintage VW bus and fitting perfectly into the setting.
More than half of the 80 exhibitors, who are coming from all over Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, are taking part in DillyDally for the first time.
Inside the hall, you will find fashion, jewelry, graphics, ceramics and art – a shopping paradise for anyone who loves something special and is looking for high-quality products with character. The expansive art installation by Paula Dischinger hovers above it all. The performance artist developed it especially for the event. There is also art in the otherwise simple stairwell, which is transformed into an eye-catcher by the light and sound installation by Audionaut from Regensburg.
DillyDally is not only a design market, but also a trend scout for new things. This year, OANS Kallmünz is celebrating its premiere at DillyDally and presenting an EAT+ART HAPPENing. An extraordinary experience that combines art and culinary delights. Visitors can look forward to an expansive, walk-in installation that is both participatory and interactive. This innovative concept creates a unique atmosphere that blurs the boundaries between art and pleasure and appeals to all the senses. On the upper floor there is THE ROSA BAR – an art space that extends into the gallery. Here you can enjoy specially composed drinks with gins from OANS, rosé sparkling wine and regional sodas. what.the.kiosk will be serving coffee and lots of sweets. This year, Saturday evening will be sweetened with a free rosé prosecco at the bar for all visitors who come from 6 p.m. onwards at the ROSA HAPPY PROSECCO HOUR.
Program:
POP UP OUTDOOR GASTRO with the kitchen crew from the Schnitzmühle in Viechtach, who will stage the forecourt together with art students from the Nuremberg and Berlin academies. EAT+ART HAPPENing by Oans Kallmünz – an art-culinary experience. SPATIAL INSTALLATION by the Regensburg performance artist Paula Dischinger. WOW EFFECTS – visuals by Kaamosydin on the façade, light and sound installations by Audionaut in the stairwell. KUNSTAUTOMATEN – Handmade horoscopes + oracles to go. THE ROSA DILLDALLY BAR – The finest drinks, regional sodas and pink sparkling wine from the DillyDally crew. Coffee and sweets from what.the.kiosk.
DillyDally creators Tanja Jackwerth and Tanja Schuster have their hands full in the weeks leading up to the DillyDally Design Market. Nevertheless, they answered a few questions for us:
Can you tell us what your favorite design pieces are in your home?
Tanja Jackwerth: my chunky pink chairs, which go perfectly with my pink dining table from the 80s.
Tanja Schuster: currently my pink Gustaf Westman Chunky Cup
You are bursting with ideas and creativity, and in addition to the DillyDally market, you also run a pop-up store and a DillyDally Vintage Edition every year. Where do you actually get the inspiration for so many ideas?
Tanja Jackwerth: We are on the road a lot and, above all, with our eyes wide open. We soak up everything that might find its way to a DillyDally event at some point! Tanja Schuster: We draw inspiration from all kinds of sources – travel, art exhibitions, events, trade fairs and, of course, the internet. When we’re looking for ideas for our pop-up events, we throw together everything we have in our heads.
As a Regensburg magazine, we are of course interested in your favorite place in or around Regensburg.
Tanja Jackwerth: Kiosk at Neupfarrplatz, Danube bank near Cinema Paradiso. And the Hoitzerhof in Hungersacker! Tanja Schuster: In summer, the steps at Neupfarrplatz – watching people go by with a coffee in hand.
What are you particularly looking forward to at this year’s DillyDally?
Tanja Jackwerth: I’m looking forward to the HAPPY ROSA PROSECCO HOUR on Saturday evening, when the store is full of happily shopped people, all holding a glass in their hands and dancing in the gallery to the feel-good sound of DJ Rote Rakete.
Tanja Schuster: To the moment when everything you’ve planned for so long comes together.
We are already looking forward to the Dilly Dally Design Market, a must for design lovers and all those who like to browse and store! It’s also a great opportunity to get your first Christmas presents! www.dillydally.events
