LOCALITIES BY THE WATER!

There are plenty of cozy squares and courtyards in Regensburg. But where can you actually sit comfortably and close to the cool water in Regensburg and the surrounding area? As always, we’ve taken a look around and collected 10 tips for you.

Here are the RegensburgNow top ten tips for places to eat by the water:

Spitalgarten. Traditional hospitality has reigned in the Spitalgarten since 1230 – including a view of the Stone Bridge and the cathedral! The Spitalgarten’s own beer has been brewed here since the Middle Ages. The wonderful innkeepers Conny and Anton Sperger have been sniffing the air of a pub since they were children – hospitality is in their blood, so to speak. Address: St.-Katharinen-Platz 1

Hospital garden

Old lime tree. The Alte Linde on the Danube was voted one of the most beautiful beer gardens in Germany by Travelbook magazine. The view of Regensburg’s old town from the beer garden is truly unique! Address: Müllerstraße 1

To worry-free. Beautiful Bavarian inn on the Danube. Address: Badstraße 54 0941 Beach. Beach feeling with loungers and beach chairs right by the river.
Address: Donaulände 21 Wirtshaus im Museum. Hearty Bavarian cuisine at the House of Bavarian History at Donaumarkt 1. Last but not least, the oldest bratwurst restaurant in the world:
Die Historische Wurstkuchl. For over 500 years, you have been able to eat bratwurst at the Donaustrudel, right next to the Stone Bridge. Even in the Middle Ages, Regensburg stonemasons and dock workers used to eat here. Despite the many tourists, much has remained the same to this day. The flood marks on the outer wall are also impressive.
