BATHING SPOTS IN AND AROUND REGENSBURG!

Summer at last! How good it feels after the long period of bad weather in spring. What could be nicer in summer than going for a swim? The only question is where… We have found some beautiful swimming spots for you in and around Regensburg. So pack your swimsuit and get into the cool water. And don’t forget your sunscreen!

Here are the RegensburgNow tips for beautiful bathing spots:

In the middle of Regensburg:

  • to the right of the Grieser Steg on the Danube is a great bathing spot – in the middle of the city (kiosk: no | WC: no)
  • In recent years, bathing bays have been built on both banks of the Regen at Obere and Untere Regenstraße in the Reinhausen district (kiosk: no | WC: no)
  • Schillerwiese: Danube beaches in the west of Regensburg (Kiosk: no | WC: no). If you walk or cycle west along the Danube cycle path, just before the rowing club there are some large bays where you can swim.
  • Westbad: Leisure pool with sauna area and large outdoor pool at Messerschmittstraße 4 in the west of the city. From sports pool, fun pool, diving towers, slide, beach volleyball and restaurants, the Westbad offers a relaxed vacation atmosphere (kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • The Wöhrdbad is idyllically situated on the Danube island. Lieblstraße 26 (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Although it does not have an outdoor pool, the indoor pool with its 25-meter sports pool at Gabelsbergerstraße 14 should also be mentioned here for the sake of form.

Bathing spots in the surrounding area:

  • Valentinsbad in Regenstauf. The Valentinsbad is my favorite! It’s located directly on the river Regen and has a large sunbathing area and a restaurant. The Valentinsbad is easy to reach by bike (Regentalradweg) or car (13km). Regentalstraße 13, 93128 Regenstauf (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Lappersdorf weir / Pilemühle river bath. Recreational area ‘Am Regen’ in Lappersdorf with a large sunbathing area. The Flussbad is easy to reach by bike as it is located directly on the Regental cycle path from Regensburg to Regendorf. Mobile sales stand in bathing weather (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Bathing area in Etterzhausen. Picturesquely situated on the Naab (Kiosk: no | WC: no)
  • Bathing area at the Naabspitz The Naab flows into the Danube at Mariaort. The bathing meadow with trees invites you to swim. Over the bridge, very close to Gasthof Krieger, is the canoe hire shop Paddelzeit.
  • Schwetzendorfer Weiher – small, beautiful bathing lake. The “Schwetzi” is located on the R 39 district road between Reifenthal and Schwetzendorf. (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Roither See is a picture-book bathing spot near Mintraching. There is a restaurant on the northern shore and a beach volleyball court on the southern shore where a kiosk caters for bathers. Roither See, 93098 Mintraching (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)

  • Guggenberger See to the east of Neutraubling – lies the “Guggi”. Beach volleyball court, two sailing clubs, a windsurfing club and a surfing school, Café Seeblick to the north, the Guggi Beach to the east and the Cantina to the west. Guggenberger See 93073 Neutraubling (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Sarchinger Weiher has a water surface area of approx. 28 hectares and is located south-east of Sarching in the eastern district of Regensburg. Kiosks and a beach bar, SUP rental. Sarchinger Weiher, 93092 Barbing (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)

  • Waldbad Hemau. Surrounded by beautiful nature and the excellent water quality make the Waldbad a real summer highlight. Waldbadstr.1, 93155 Hemau (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Bulmare – outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna area in Burglengenfeld. Im Naabtalpark 44, 93133 (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Lake Murner. Just a few kilometers from Schwandorf, the Murner See and Brückelsee lakes lie picturesquely side by side. You can go rowing or pedal boating here. There is also a campsite. Sonnenrieder Straße, 92442 Wackersdorf. (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Steinbergersee. Mit einer Wasserfläche von 1,84 km² ist er der größte See in der Oberpfalz. Hier gibt es die Wasserski-Seilbahn Wild Wake Ski. Aber auch sonst gibt es viele Wassersportmöglichkeiten, wie Bootsverleih, mit Tret-, Ruder und Segelbooten, sowie eine bewirtschaftete Bootshaus Terrasse. Steinberger See, 92449 Steinberg am See.   • Ramspau river bath. A spacious sunbathing lawn, showers, toilets, changing rooms, table tennis and a beach volleyball court make the Flussbad am Regen a great destination for a day out. Am Wehr 3, 93128 Regenstauf. (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Inselbad Bad Abbach. In contrast to many other outdoor pools, the Inselbad in Bad Abbach is a natural pool. Inselstraße 2a, 93077 Bad Abbach. (Kiosk: yes | WC: yes)
  • Höllohe natural pool. Not only can you swim and sunbathe here, there is also a lakeside café, a beach volleyball court and a boccia and skating rink. Am Naturpark 2-4, 93158 Teublitz
